The day starts with a visit of one of the most famous Roman markets with nearly 300 stalls selling fresh vegetables, fruit, spices, cheese, seafood, meat, and more. See where real Romans go to stock their kitchens, and learn the secret behind great Italian cuisine—high-quality ingredients. As we walk through the busy market, you will have a chance to sample wine, fresh pasta, beef Carpaccio, and local desserts. At the end a small cuisine session where you will be showed how to cook a typical italian pasta dish. Enjoy your meal.
After lunch, the tour continues with a visit to the Vatican Museums, one of the most important art collections in existence.
The itinerary includes the Pio Clementino Hall, Laocoon and Apollo Belvedere, the Candelabra Gallery, the Tapestries Gallery, the Maps Gallery, and the Sistine Chapel, where you can admire the breathtaking frescos by Michelangelo, one of the most famous artworks of all time. From the Museum, you exit directly to St. Peter’s Basilica, the most important Christian Church in the world, to admire, among others, Michelangelo’s masterpiece La Pietà and the impressive Baldachin Altar by Bernini.
The tour ends in St. Peter’s Square, dominated by Michelangelo’s imposing Cupola and surrounded by Bernini’s double Colonnade.
